If you know Andrew Treske, Ethan Butler, and I you know we have some things in common. We all went to school together. We are all admittedly outspoken and opinionated. Most importantly, we all are crazy about music. As evidenced by our late night debates and numerous music live tweets (@i_porter6 in case you're wondering), we also tend to mix these similarities. As a result, we decided to create a blog to serve as a platform to discuss, share, and debate all things music. I’m happy to present Earhole!
We know we aren’t the first people in the world to write a music blog. We'll probably never be Pitchfork or Rolling Stone or The Fader, but that’s not what we’re going for. We’re not that pretentious.
Rather, we are looking to create a community in which we can share our thoughts on music’s past, present, and future. This will be in the form of album reviews, interviews, podcasts, think pieces, and an occasional group discussion we’re calling #StaffChat. Whether our thoughts are right or wrong is up for debate, but we hope that Earhole's content spurs the kinds of conversations that we had for so many (drunken) nights at school. We’ll also do our best to enhance your listening experience by putting you on to music we can’t stop listening to.
While most of us haven’t composed our own music or even studied music theory, these amalgamated notes and chords that we call songs do have an impact on how we feel and how we experience life. We think it’s worth being reflected on.
We’re taking the trip down the Earhole. We hope you join us.
Peace, Love, and Jonas Brothers,
