FRESH POT - March 23rd

My Monday morning is usually the same: drag myself out of bed, shower, drive to the office, cross my fingers that someone brought bagels, and otherwise bury myself deep within the confines of my headphones until the first meeting of the day. At some point during this process, I somehow become super, super alert, if not straight-up good at what I do for a living. I think it has something to do with those headphones.

I feel like a lot of people are in this same professional boat, so every Monday I curate a playlist for all you great readers that will hopefully help make your morning as productive as it can be--or at least, slightly less dreary. I'll be listening to this mix too, so I sure hope it works. Without further ado, here's this week's Fresh Pot.

This week's Fresh Pot is straight-up dub. It's that time of year, folks. The sun is shining, which means I'm spending most of my free time on my porch, which means I listened to nothing but dub and reggae this weekend, which means that's what you're stuck with because I really, really want to keep that weekend mentality going. Thankfully, all this stuff is great--be sure to check out the tracks by Linval Thompson, King Tubby, and Errol Thompson. There are also two songs you might recognize from covers: "Police and Thieves" by Junior Marvin (later covered by The Clash) and "Rivers of Babylon" by the Melodians (later covered by Sublime).

Have a great Monday. Go forth and do awesome shit.
